Miami’s Art Deco Buildings
Art Deco is an architectural style first appearing in France before World War I. A celebration of “modernity” characterized by rich colors, bold geometric shapes, and baroque ornamentation. It flourished internationally in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. Miami Beach is renowned for its collection of Art Deco buildings, making it one of the most visually distinctive areas in the United States.
